Telecom provider in North Korea plans to introduce internet via cell phones...
Voice of America is reporting the mobile telecommunications provider in North Korea, the Egyptian company Orascom Telecom, is planning to introduce Internet service using mobile phones in North Korea.
According to the chief of the U.S. civic group Choson Exchange, an official of the telecom company plans to add Internet access to its 3G mobile telecommunications service in North Korea.
However, Voice of America said the North Korean government has not yet approved the Egyptian providers plan. The U.S.-based broadcaster said that even if the service is launched, only expatriates who live permanently in Pyongyang will be allowed to subscribe, while its local residents will be unable to use them.
