North Korea 70% capable of producing 1-2 nuclear weapons...

A diplomatic source says North Korea has reached a level where it is 70% capable of producing one to two nuclear weapons in a single year.

The source made the remark during the U.N.-South Korea Annual Joint Conference on Disarmament and Nonproliferation that opened in Jeju Island on Monday.

The source said the fact that the North possesses two-thousand centrifuges at its uranium enrichment facility in Yongbyon means the plant is a small-sized industrial facility capable of mass production.

The source added it is difficult to confirm whether there are additional uranium enrichment facilities in North Korea other than the one in Yongbyon since the North does not declare the existence of such plants.

The source added it appears North Korea spent at least nine years for building the uranium enrichment facility in Yongbyon.
